This is still one of my favorite chapters in this series. Every time I read this chapter, I am reminded once again that the time with your parent is limited. Make the most out of the time left and cherish it.

I don't remember how long ago/what chapter it was, but there was a chapter with Haruko writing a letter to her own grandmother. This chapter reminds me of it. I don't know when I read that chapter, so I am not too sure if that was what encouraged me to do the same. Or maybe it was coincidence. I think I have been saving letters she sends from before I even found this series. I can't say I have a particularly good relationship with any of my so-called "relatives", but it is still worth doing it once in a blue moon for their sake. Though doing so is a bit disheartening each time, as things mostly tend to get worse on my end (feel guilty sending a depressing letter).
