If I’m not wrong an earlier chapter he mentioned he left where he was to go to Okinawa due to allergies and other things

Okinawa climate is closer to south east asia than mainland Japan.
I mean it’s the last prefecture located at south Japan.

It doesn’t snow there btw so if Japanese people want to experience tropical climate without going overseas most of them go to Okinawa.

He's going to have a nasty surprise come winter. It's always windy there, which makes it tolerable in the summer heat but chilly, wet, and miserable in the winter.

It really is great for allergies, though, which is weird. Anywhere you don't mow turns to jungle, so you'd think it's be worse for your allergies, but it's not. For someone like me who was plagued with allergy problems all my life it was great.
