And always good to not overfeed/there is some memes/comics about cats crying as if they're being starved but i can imagine some cats would throw up on purpose in front of you just because they know/would wanna make you clean it up

(my dog only threw up when she ate grass in the backyard on purpose i imagine it's instinct or so but it was probably outta a need versus enjoying the taste but luckily it's not like it was too often)

Dogs and cats both have the instinct to eat grass when they are nauseous. But some cats and dogs eat it because they enjoy it, or to help with digestion. They're actually similar in that respect.
Cats really do just vomit for almost no reason, though. We've had foster cats vomit, solely because they are stressed in a new environment. A week or two later, they're fine. 😅
