According to Jisho, 葉末 (Hazue) means "tip of a leaf" and 露 (when read as Tsuyu) means "dew" or "tears", so that's probably what Hazue meant with the colors matching their names

Yeah. The Japanese can be quite vague about blue and green (ao kind of means both because the seas around Japan except Okinawa are more green than blue, and their rivers too, with silt) but leaves and water. And author didn't commit to a specific color for specific name even though we'd say 'obviously leaves are green and water is blue'. Which is not always true! But together Hazue and Tsuyu are definitely green blueish.
