Getting suddenly transferred to a completely different world, where your life is in danger, I really can't blame (too much) those kids! A group mentality is adopted as a measure of self-preservation and as a cope mechanism where faith is usually put into the an adult, who's also a Goddess! One of the best examples is the Hitlerjugend organisation! Children were systematically indoctrinated! It's a long process, but I don't want to write an essay, quite interesting tbh how much this process transformed normal children in extemly loyal fanatical killers!
