Ok so heres the problem with how it all started, we know male lead wont awaken until teenage years cause they just had to start the series off with that.

This means we know for a fact while he grows to care deeply for fmc he wont gain mana until that point. This crushes the agency and drama as we know vaguely the timeline to the important plot point.
