Wow this is ancient. It's not a perspective I think of very often, of how it must have been before the series ended... of how it must have been when not even the Cell saga was completed. Not even the Namek saga. A pre-super saiyan DB! But of course the fanwork started early. Goku and Piccolo Junior also have quite some tension in the tournament, especially Goku being all flirty, so this really is a foregone conclusion. (Chichi in that one panel: "But you're both boys!")
