Did not expect the opening to spoof Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam with axolotl and antropomorphic cheese hunk only to lead into discussion of axolotl cannibalism for sport but that kind of nonsense is why I love this silly (and dark) manhua. What even is abuse and trauma to a (supernatural/alien) monster? Chi Liu is affection-starved, for sure. Then there's play cannibalism. 🍖

I feel like loner and eldritch beings are a usually lot simpler to analyze in relationships than when civilized aliens/demons/axolotl have xenopsychology. Most monster people are written like reskinned humans with new stat blocks and quirks/author fetishes. Chi Liu is so beyond that.
