Heartwarming. Rin sells herself short because of her trauma, but she's cuter than she thinks. And this is before she even puts on a dash of that pretty handy thing called makeup. She'll shine with just a bit of it, like adding polish to an unpolished gem. Rather, it's Serina who's the outlier if she looks like that naturally.

But that's besides the point. The lesson here is for Rin to do what she wants to do, dress up in that fashion because she likes it herself and it makes her happy.
