I haven't made a dedicated effort to show this (sorry!), but every character's name is a pun... in Japanese. Some are more obvious than others, but I thought I'd take the time here to actively list them all.

[ul]Harry (ハーリ): Obviously an actual name, but also a pun on ハリネズミ (harinezumi, hedgehog)[/ul]
[ul]Garu (ガル): this is an onomatopoeia for growling, typically from an animal like a wolf[/ul]
[ul]Peta (ペタ): a pun on both ペンギン (pengin, penguin) and ピーター (pītā, Peter)[/ul]
[ul]Kamu (カム): a pun on カブ (kabu, cub)[/ul]
[ul]Kurumi (くるみ): it literally translates to walnut, but it's more likely a pun on くるみ割り人形 (kurumiwariningyō, nutcracker)[/ul]
[ul]Jack (ジャック): derived from 孔雀 (kujaku, peacock) and possibly alsoピーコック (pīkokku, peacock)[/ul]

...I'm going to hope I haven't forgotten anyone.

@Reversinator Aw, that's really interesting! ^^ What about Peta's grandpa then? I tried looking it up and I think they mentioned his name is Washi https://mangadex.org/chapter/385015/1 . And the chicken's name is Tosaka! https://mangadex.org/chapter/415100/1 Hahaha, I just started having too much fun doing this, I'm just curious though, so no need to go out of your way to look this up if you don't want to!

@Nightlilygirl- Ack, forgot about them. The name of Peta's grandfather, ワシ, is actually a mistake on my part; I misinterpreted an outdated pronoun used primarily by old people as an actual name, since washi can also mean 鷲, eagle. I'll definitely need to rectify that. As for Tosaka, トサカ (tosaka, more commonly written in hiragana as とさか) literally means "comb", as in the cockscomb of a chicken.
