well thanks to @Gerdinnyo, I can see the stupidity of the military strategy in this manga. Not that I didn't know it before, but its one of those "can't unsee" kinda things were you know its there, but don't acknowledge it until someone else has :meguuusad: . I'm still reading cause i like the Hazen-sided cast(the stupid, corrupt senior officers is cringe as f though and have always been terrible writing), but yeah, this manga is not winning any prizes for realistic depictions of military operations, lol.

Yes, again, as I've said, it can be enjoyable. I did like the MC and the relationships between him, his senior officers and his troops. Reading up to chap 9 was great. I simply refuse to read badly explained and flawed millitary strategies. But my understanding is also pretty shallow. I just know the general ideas of being in fortress, good, being outside fortress very bad. There is a manga I am reading rn, which I thought gave a valid argument for troops to actually meet in the field instead of staying in the fortress. To be exact, the reasoning was, "We outnumber them ~2,5 to 1, and they have the means of blowing huge holes in the fortress." and so they basically decide to go into the field and spread more thinly. That way they minimise the damage done by the "bombardment" and can potentially surround the enemy forces.

So if you can look past the issues with the use of fortresses, this is completely fine. I may have been a bit too emotional when writing that comment. I get quite agitated around these issues, but in honestly, they aren't really that serious. It's really just a detail that some people tend to get wrong. It doesn't have any impact on the story the author wants to tell.
