What's ultimately ironic is that he might end up like Toake, going from former police officer to yakuza bigshot carrying a secret about his identity.

You can tell the exact moment Kanetaka became Toake 2.0, and that scar from Toki (which also resembles Toki's obviously) was a nice touch. I'm getting the same impression as what I got when I saw how Michael Corleone changed after he lost Apollonia.

Now to see whether Toake became a bigshot yakuza because he is actually playing the long game and Anai misjudged him, or if he truly did lose himself in the Gokudo; and which path will Kanetaka follow.
