My thought is all the weapons were linked and when the sword was coated in his blood it got hacked like earlier and broke them all accidentally.

It was quite clear that he had to make direct contact with the magical tool to hack it, and even then it took some time to do so.
Your suggestion is akin to saying you don't need to fear guns since you can just disassemble them.
