That last couple of panels left me tearing up a little over a goofy grin . . . in fact, this whole chapter left me with a big happy grin. They care about each other so much, and they're not even trying to hide it.
Honestly, it feels like the only reason they haven't actually "officially" fallen in love is because neither of them thinks much about that sort of thing, and have never made the connection between romance and how they feel about each other. And it could easily end that way, with them being bestest of friends forever but never actually ending up thinking of themselves as a couple . . . which wouldn't be bad, per-se, but certainly not as satisfying as them sharing a bed a little more actively, as it were . . .
I do keep expecting the other shoe to drop, though, or be thrown even - Chi Tang's dad is going to cause problems, and I feel like that's going to be the catalyst for more development in that direction. Possibly he'll see You Yu defending Chi Tang and accuse them of being lovers, or some other equally stupid but predictable rant from a stereotypical male having his power over his own family challenged . . .
For now, though, we have a lovely holiday interval to enjoy, full of love of all kinds - familial, fraternal and just a little bit of the romantic sort . . . and who knows, they'll obviously be sharing that lovely room so even a little bit of eros may be on the cards? I can dream, certainly . . . and so can You Yu . . .
