Welp I guess we know what they were hunting now.
I was about to comment on how Susuki not getting the concept of "stories" as "history" as opposed to "fables" being significant but then in a rare fit of competence it seems Hakaba noticed it himself: the monsters (or demihumans, w/e) don't have a concept of past/present/future, or rather they don't appreciate the continuity between how what happened before and what is happening now are going to influence what will happen in the future. If he can somehow convey this to the rest of them it could be a breakthrough for demihumankind as a whole (then again, they're probably just gonna ignore him).
