Since it's been a while i went back to volume 6 and the reason she got so little for royalties for the fairy garden is because her dad forced her editor to set it to .001% so she doesn't start thinking writing a novel equates to making 70 million yen.

Yeah the timeline for this chapter was pretty dang weird. Jumped all over the place.

However, next chapter is self-contained but pretty dope writing! Great mini character growth arc.

It was actually two reasons:
1) Her dad, as outlined. But the publishing company actually refused to set it that low, until;
2) Hibiki got a massive fine for standing in front of a running train. That was the reason/excuse - the royalty money went to the fine instead.

They did use the money for 2 yes, but her dad already decided to set it that low and it was her mother who talked him into accepting it to pay the fine.
