Hiding viewed notifications

Is there a way to hide notes you've already read? I've been on the site since 2018 and have obviously participated in a ton of different discussions, so my feed often gets clogged up after upvotes in discussions of recent chapters of hyped manga (Even if it satisfies my ego, 20-30 ratings a day easily turns my notification feed into a mess), or when some asshole tries to downvote all my comments in old discussions, either because they're losing their minds or because they're unaware of the problematic nature of hindsight.

They do fall off after some time (~4 days) on their own, IIRC. (Checked my notifications page, and yeah, that looks right.)
That's quite a lot, but thanks for the insight anyway. I'm not narcissistic enough to complain about the ratings itselfs, but when you comment on hyped works or when some guy digs up your old arguments, it's really distracting.

You can fine tune the alerts you get in the settings, so if you wanted to turn off just reactions, you could still see mentions, etc.

Never forget you can change what notifications you get in your preferences.

I don't mind the reactions themselves, I just don't like that there's no way to control how long they are displayed, even after reading. However, the fact that you can still distinguish the new ones from the old ones does mitigate the situation somewhat (even in expanded view, although most websites will immediately mark all notifications as read after this).

If it's any consolidation, there's a page where you can see all reactions. So what you could do is disable the notifications and just view them through that page whenever you want. Thus having two different sections, one for replies and the other for reactions.

Do you mean that if I turn off notifications, they will still be displayed here in the usual way? That's less convenient, but I don't want to be noisy, so I'll try it sometime. Thank you.

I do think there would be some benefit to giving chapters/titles their own set of settings to allow folks to suppress alerts from those without having to turn them off site wide.

Do you mean turn off notifications about discussions of a certain manga or chapter if you don't want to see it for some reason?

That seems like a stretch - I don't want to think what the devs would have to sacrifice to make that work - but treating the manga chapters as a single unit and everything else as a distinct unit would give a bit of fine tuning.

Hmm. I don't really understand anything about this, but I'd clearly like to forget about discussing some titles just like I keep others on my watch list, lmao.

When it comes to noisy individuals the ignore button works perfectly, as for regular notifications you can choose among two options: remove alerts for specific ones (just like you've been told) or remove all notifications and "watch" threads you want to follow. Of course, an option for "stop showing notifications about comments X days old" would be ideal, as it exists in other platforms.

Some people simply abuse ratings with zero participation in the discussion, so ignoring them is the only option to respond to them.
