I mentioned this since chapter 1 but Hikaru, despite being this incomprehensible monstrosity, genuinely seems to care about Yoshiki and what he thinks of him and that's so... it's like, why? Why would the friend of a body he's possessed hold so much emotional weight over him? Is it because it adopted Hikaru's memories of their lives together?

That lady is very perceptive to notice that they are "very close friends", but I think she might be wrong about "Hikaru" being the culprit here. I think he might just be something at the epicentre of whatever is going on
