@darekpawlo Bruce Lee, Elizabeth Taylor, Natalie Portman, Leonardo diCaprio, and Joaquin Phoenix were all child actors who made it big in childhood and stayed successful in adulthood. A lot of the fucked-up-in-adulthood child actors either have shitty parents (like most famously Mac Culkin) or greedy ones (like Jackie Coogan, the guy the child actor protection law is named after). They are also often badly mismanaged by their talent agencies and not allowed to properly mature into adult roles. Liz Taylor and Natalie Portman succeeded precisely because their managers transitioned them well. We tend to think of child actors as messed up wrecks because it's the wrecks who make the headlines. The ones who transition normally just lose the child part of the job description.
