I wanted to love this manga but it feels so rushed, I'm guessing it'll be over in the next few chapters.

There are some similar elements to those of Ubume no Natsu and Mouryou no Hako (both adapted by Aki Shimizu from the Kyougokudou novels) in this chapter. Also the slime is basically a Shoggoth, and I wouldn't be surprised if the key to this mystery is Kiriko's original body.
