MTL as it may be, a QC afterwards SHOULD at least catch something so damn obvious as wrong pronouns and provide consistent name spellings(Berta, Belta, Berthe, what?..). This raw MTL or something?

One of the problems these types of stories have is that the emotions of other characters are basically an after thought so they have little impact since you can't really understand them. We can only somewhat relate to them by proxy through the brief window where Eclair reflected and worried about her own condition.

I think this chapter actually reflects really poorly on Eclair's character. She isn't particularly fond of Mistral based on her own thoughts early in the chapter. She's only willing to marry Mistral because it might break her curse. She's basically a gold digger where the gold is dispelling a curse. Only in these kinds of vapid stories is a purely selfish act shown as a good thing that will definitely turn into True Love.
