Makio looks so sinister here. He's actually much friendlier and warm.
And that toilet scene doesn't exist in the original.

The dialogue with the ferry man is different from in the novel.
In the novel, he didn't mention anything about other guys whom Hiyori had taken a liking before.
The conversation about Hiyori having boyfriend is supposed to be earlier, when Miharu is sending Hiyori to the ferry after school, the day when he told Eri about him getting a girlfriend.

I'm more interested on his childhood friend at this moment

Pray it doesn't get stopped after story of LN volume 1 like Saginomiya's other manga adaptation.

At least the MC isn't being forced to say in a relationship with her.
Which I normally don't like to see in these types of stories.
