People retire at a certain age, usually around 60 - 65, so they can enjoy their final days. They get paid a (government) pension after retirement. Elves retire around the same age and then continue to live for hundreds or even more years.

Don't worry about forgetting haha. A huge swath of the workforce never even had the opportunity for a pension. The closest thing nowadays is whatever social welfare program in the country of residence/citizenship offers. And most of those will run dry unless some serious socio-economic upheaval happens.

Ah, but elves would have it all at that point. Long life, timeless beauty, and financial security. Sure, they end up as the typical hentai-plot target. But, wait, that would mean they also get to have sex.
Man, I'd be lucky to have just one of the above by the time I die hahaha.
