Turtles are so delicious we've exploited multiple species to near extinction over the past 400ish years. Most softshell's are farmed at industrial scale nowadays so they're off the endangered camp.

Also this is not a asia-centric phenomena, both the brits and the yanks loved their turtle up to and including the 90's.

I've eaten alot of uncommon animals in my life: rats, snakes, squirrels, ostrich, gator, balut, spiders.

Turtle is where I draw the line. Dunno what it is but they just give off "passive" energy that makes me not want to eat them. Snappers maybe, but they look like they are filled with parasites.

I have a pet softshell at home, so this chapter is a bit of a miss from me, lol.

The drunkies are happy because Suppon is a great meal to partake with alcohol. The ladies love it because of the collagen, and the guys love it because its allegedly an aphrodisiac. (the turtle head looks like an endowed penis)

Also the k-on turtle at the end is a fly river turtle which is an endangered species so no chopping that fella lol

i've helped butcher some farm animals (chicken, goat, cow) and some fishes, but i don't think i'd have the guts to do turtle
