I think author finally understood that they fucked up and try to give Mizuki SOME justification for what she's doing, but this just feels strange

Marriage obligation are still common in eastern, is still common see hear about woman quiting their work because they should be housewifes. Theme like loveless releasonship, true love and cheating are so common is seinen novels because this kind of culture. So yes, we will discover that guy is cold and also have a mistress

Yeah that's where my worries come from, cause I have seen this convenient "spouse is neglectful" plot way too many times before in other stories as an easy out to avoid having to deal with the nuances of the main characters engaging in cheating.

(Also don't worry about your english, you're replying to a fellow non-english speaker, spanish is my actual native tongue👍)

I don't think there's anything indicating that he was callous or neglectful, just that their relationship never worked out after their marriage. They probably stayed together for their daughter's sake. There's a few lines in a much earlier chapter that imply they haven't been intimate since Hazuki was born.

I agree! Hinata pretty much manipulated the housewife into spending any time with her and then pretty much blackmailed her with spilling what they did together to keep her on the hook.

I don't care if they both get caught but like have Hinata face some consequence. Have some other friend see how she isn't ever trying to associate with them and slap her. Hopefully there will be a huge shake up when she denies the daughter's confession at her birthday and Hinata sides with her daughter and kicks Mizuki out

If you are expecting some big drama from this manga, you are reading it wrong.

Also, it's hilarious seeing people jumping into the "husband is trash" train now even though this little scene is nothing new. Remember, Mizuki sends him him pre-cooked meals every week and this wonderful specimen can't be arsed to thank her even when his fucking daughter told him to do so.
