How do I get rid of the header

The header has become a permanent fixture on both the front page and in the comics themselves and it's unfathomably annoying, how do I change it back?

You cannot do anything about this outside of the reader.
Inside the reader, near the top (mobile/small window layout) or in the sidebar (desktop), there's a button with a rectangular "maximize window"-style icon. Clicking that makes the header go away.
