i think this would really cheapen the her arc. what makes her story so tragic is that from her perspective it feels justified. adrian IS satan, like he through no fault of his own was born with a predisposition to do evil and in fact is required to in order to live. her experiencing the death of her other son followed by the bombshell of learning of adrian's identity driving her mad is understandable and that's why it's heartbreaking that adrian doesn't even really resent her or want to cause her harm, yet she wants him dead more than anything because of something out of his control. she can't see the degree he has changed for the better with hilda's presence (ie. genuinely being worried for her safety over just a broken teacup) because she is blinded by vengeance and has already disqualified him as her genuine son, she doesn't care that he is a devil that has in part overcome his base nature. she's an excellent antagonist and i feel like this type of twist would make their confrontation less impactful, her being partially on the side of "good" in terms of wanting to destroy a proven evil murderous being makes her more compelling. she has genuine cause to believe her goal is righteous despite that being her own son
