We really can consider it a cheat to see the fate that binds entities, it's very much in reminiscence of the classics, like the red string that bind lovers. He does gains a lot from unraveling those threads.
But just seeing that alone allows for a huge advantage of intel, letting loyalties of others be completely clear, current or future actions.
But he is a villain so all fair I guess haha
