Holy crap, that really went incredibly different from the novel. Yin mei wasn't really a part of the battle at all, just standing back, and never tried to sacrifice herself in the novel and neither did this spirit get to be uppity and attack, he got trapped and then devoured in no time and he never accepted it like here, instead just being dumbfounded and unwilling to accept being devoured. The stupid-a*s turtle spirit never got to try helping either, he was just a spectator commenting a bit on the battle. In other words, way too overdramatized here, while he had things under greater control in the novel. After all, the mc prepared for the trump card to be at least 100 times stronger than this spirit, so why would this spirit cause any real problems? He even did a monologue about overestimating that guy, haha.
