That wasn't her normal room, that was the room she previously used in her last life, when she was practically exiled, so it's likely far away from everyone else.

Also, someone can correct me if I'm wrong here, I believe ye olde Asian architecture previously had it so that 'large houses' were often just many smaller houses essentially built closer together (to put it simply anyway) - which is why you often seen them going outside to move from one place to the next, despite it all being part of the same house/estate.
Thus, when she's gone to her old room, that's further away from everyone else, it's quite literally 'outside' of the house - it makes sense how it can become neglected, rundown, and how wildlife can get inside.
