The thing is he didn't want to help her. He told her to get lost before the wave began. He could have summoned his scorpion at that point and had both girls under its protection as he cleaned up. He is already strong enough at that point. He should have saved her told her from now on the past is the past and sever ties with her. This way it opens chance for redemption for her or at least closes the door on the OG host. Just feels too cold hearted.
