If there's only 2 persons to compare, it's not really something in common if you need to say "either a or b", is it?
And, more importantly, "no one will look for them" because they have no parents, but they have siblings and friends?
"Who? My brother? No, I don't know if he's alive, that's for our parents to care about, and since they're dead..."
