It's definitely one of those stories where the author is either doing something very cool or very stupid and you can't really tell yet because part of the cool thing is making you think the stupid thing might happen.I'm five chapters in and still not sure how to feel about this manga. Himari's way of thinking is insane: this guy killed me before, so I have to shower him with love because it was my fault he killed me! Oh no!
Hope we'll get a better hint of what they talked about prior to the murder, and hopefully Himari'll actually stop being so dumb about this and realise Shion's not a dashingly charming prince, but just a homicidal lunatic.
Like I could see the author using shoujo tropes to sorta mimic the part of an abusive relationship where things feel awesome and fixable. Which would be cool, especially since a lot of stories don't depict the parts of those relationships that suck you back in.
