I'd feel somewhat sorry for the sister if she wasn't such an attention-seeking such and such with a huge inferiority complex that borders on obsession.

I hope her (younger?) brother, the one that played video games and wanted to raise a cat with her (even if he did constantly ask her to cook for him), also leaves that household.

Yangxi is easy. Although he's not angry that someone thinks he'd use his money that way, he'd probably eventually get angry that people would dismiss her effort/ability.

I still kinda feel sorry for her since it looks (to me) like it all stems from the fact that she has some sort of insecurity that she'll be abandoned/shunned for not being the "real" sister, and since this series began that trash family is slowly proving her insecurities right. It's true that she's self destructing quite a bit on her own because of her personality but the driving force behind it all is how inherently crappy that family is once you dig past the surface and an entirely reasonable fear with the way they're acting.

Unfortunately for her she probably won't be getting character development to become a better person since without a proper antagonist, whatever laws seem to govern the light novel this is supposed to be have started to abandon her too in favor of focusing on the MC. Was our MC acting like some sort of decoy for the sister's (not as bad) bad luck the entire time?

And without her there, she has nothing to take, and can't build up anything. Imagine if fake daughter develops the sickness that originally killed the MC.

What's unknown are the mechanisms behind bad luck since the MC isn't radiating bad luck to everyone but thanks to this we can understand that bad luck here is probably the absence of luck instead of an opposing force. Because of that I guessed she was like a lightning rod for bad events if people with better luck (but still unlucky) were around her. After all, children getting swapped at birth doesn't seem likely in the modern era for people with a decent amount of luck.
