I definitely preferred the literally translated names over the raw pinyin. The raw is basically just not translated at all, and if you don't know some of the language, it's difficult to easily tell similar names apart.

Also the line "I don't think she knows that I've amnesia...", you can't contract an emphasized verb in a sentence, like you did here. "Have" is an emphasized, active verb. I have amnesia. That can't be a contraction.

Contractions for "have" are for like when the verb is past-tense. "Have been", "Have gone", "Have said". The second word is the emphasized, active verb, and the "have" is the tense indicator. In these cases, you can form a contraction.

"I have been to the market." -> "I've been to the market." The emphasized, active verb ("been") is intact. The tense-indicator ("have been -> have") can be a contraction.

"I have gone to bed." -> "I've gone to bed." ("gone" is intact)
"I have said it before." -> "I've said it before." ("said" is intact)

Similarly, for a future tense indicator:

"I will be back." -> "I'll be back." ("will be" -> "will" = future-tense-indicator; "be" = emphasized verb. "be" is intact)

In all these cases, the emphasized, active verb is intact, and only the tense-indicator is a contraction. In the original sentence, "I've amnesia", is the emphasized, active verb intact? No. So, it sounds unnatural.

Thank you for the translations Mage guy. Also literal translation is better than Pinyin. It's difficult to remember all the Pinyin names
