It's really clear with this chapter how she doesn't even view Peter as a person, nor does she actually love him. Not even the idea of him. Just the idea of a boyfriend-shaped empty space and all the right traits to tick the boxes of a perfect boyfriend (and well, a boyfriend who reminds her of her dog, the one other being she ever loved). This is her idea of what would make her happy, and she's super pissed it got ruined. It's so sociopathic lmao, I love it.
