Those nails look pretty, can't deny that. No reason to be against guys who just want to decorate their nails a bit.

A comment on the translation: Is "the nails didn't fall off" correct? It does not make sense given the context which implies Maid-kun forgot to remove them. The current translation sounds as if the nails are like leaves that just fall from a tree on their own.

some fake nails actually work by being glued and you need to then Wash off to remove so contextually makes sense is weird if you don't know about this little fact but you can still get the point

I don't see how knowing how fake nails are attached would make "fall" correct given the context of the scene.

very late reply after 2 years, but the original japanese text did say the nail didn't fall off, but it made much more sense in japanese bcs the verb for removing fake nails/ makeup etc is the same as to drop sth / to make sth fall, so in the original text saying "the nails didnt fall off" is the same as saying "the fake nails were not removed"

However if you translate it to english word for word, it doesnt make sense

Sorry for the very late reply (must've missed this), but the nails don't fall off as much as they are deliberately removed. "Fall" implies a passive action, an accident, something not done voluntarily.

Thanks for the explanation! That makes sense.

This proves - yet again - that translating Japanese requires more than just transliteration. What makes sense in Japanese does not always make sense in English, and the translator should know when changes are necessary to convey the correct meaning.
