Overprotective gyaru friend get
Also going through the comments and seeing which posts the mods hide being anything with the phrase "used goods" is hilarious.

Hmmmm
Well, in this situation I would probably have done something similar? Especially if the child is underage and they say they're living with someone other than family?

I get she was a bit pushy with the information but imagine you find out an underage teen is living with an older man who's not related.
I don't think I could let that go.
It's not because I want to be a buzzkill, but we have to protect children from adults who may take advantage of them
I know this is manga so we know the MC is good, but in real life stuff like this doesn't come often.

I'm surprised that not much people hate the gyaru for acting like a decent human being.
Also a protective gyaru, is that gap?

Yeah nah, just tell her to fuck off. There are limits to personal questions, this is ridiculous.

Why is everyone in this series so damned close with their co-workers?
This is absolutely ridiculous. It is utterly destroying immersion. As far as I'm aware, co-workers are just people you're professionally obligated to play nice with. It is impossible to actually be friends with any of them, let alone romance them, because ALL interactions with them are necessarily artificial.

something about this series seems to make certain types of people react strongly

cant say i see why though.
It's possibly because characters behave strangely in a way that seems obvious, but the author seems to miss.
Like, in this chapter Asami suggests that someone she has not met before has to have evil intentions in letting Sayu stay over and insists that she comes over so she can judge his character.

Meanwhile, Asami is an even bigger stranger to Sayu and is now pushing her to go with her to a home with only the two of them (until Yoshida would arrive). The hypocrisy is obvious, yet the author seems to not make the connection themselves.

We see this in a future chapter as well. Where Asami is supposed to guard Sayu from threats and yet completely exposes her to someone she knows would hurt her.

Everyone who knows of the situation Sayu and Yoshida are in are suspicious of Yoshida's intentions, but when Sayu ignores personal space and boundaries and pushes Yoshida down, there are no negative consequences for her. Like, I understand that Yoshida has all the power here, but this kind of behaviour needs to at least be discouraged. As the adult, Yoshida should've reprimanded Sayu and reinforced that consent is important.

Usually, it's the women and girls that end up being hypocrites or being held to a lower standard. Now of course, Sayu is still a minor, whereas most other characters in this comic are not. Still though, Sayu being a minor is a choice that was made by the author. The author seems to be very comfortable with letting anyone but Yoshida be responsible or reasonable. And in a story where most of screentime that doesn't go to Yoshida ends up going to women & girls, it kinda leads to a sinister underlying message.
