How do you jump forward out of surprise only to fall backwards when your ankle flips sideways.

By jumping while spinning your body. MC jumped while trying to look back. The forward momentum made her landing fail to the side because her lower body has turned by more or less 90 degress when she landed. She fell backwards because the spinning didn't really stop yet and her upper body has turned even further.
