@Lex @punpun I do not think it was axed, a good amount of his series, that is, Hop Step Jump, Sundome, Ibitsu e Itsuuu are between 76 and 63 chapter long, so it looks that all of this is pretty premeditated by the author and not by the influence of some evil editor, I think what happens here is that this author has some form of penchant for tragic ends and Ibitsu is definitely the most tragic of all his series. Maybe the objective of the author with this series was to make the most tragic ending possible, so i could say I was very successful, at least I was let feeling like the worst shit when I finished the series, same thing happens with a great lot of people.

25 chapters in, I feel bad for the 2 main characters. I skipped and read the ending but aint that some shit. Gonna continue reading for sure.

edit: finished the other chapters and feels bad all around for both of them, sad ending. its needing a "tragic" tag for sure.

Wow... This one was one hell of a ride. I first discovered this manga several years ago, and finalmy decided to reread and finish it. I love psychological, twisted shit like this but damn, the ending left me feeling super empty. I really wished for Madoka and Kakiguchi to get together but... I guess not.
Well, at least it lived up to it's name, that's all I can say.

This story has a sort of disgusting and surreal beauty to it that is summarized perfectly in the final words of Vol. 5 Ch. 37.

"Get it dirty, wash it clean; destroy, and rebuild."

so... when does this actually start to get entertaining, cause 9 chapters in, it still isn't.

Read this unfinished a few years ago and found it finished recently. I oddly love twisted manga like this and I loved it but hated the ending.

Tbh, this is such a twisted manga. It is to expected since it is one of Kazuto's pieces. Maybe it's because I'm getting older or maybe it's because I have gotten to the point where seeing happy endings no longer brings me joy. I crave for something different. I don't want the MC to win. It seems lately that a lot of media follow a very similar plot outline. Ibitsu, as weird as it is, is a refreshing. You kind of have an idea of what is going to happen during the meat of it but the ending did a complete 180 from what I originally thought it was going to be. Weird but satisfying.

Ending
feels very abrupt/rushed. Did this get axed before they got to do an actual ending?

the ending, last volume, as whole its ok, is set the tone to nothing more than a bittersweet ending.
but the death tho, so out of nowhere a random guy from the past overreacting at a few words and killing her?? srsly felt so lazy - "look she died ohh super sad manga ending im such a good writer"

Not really sure what to make of the ending here. I understand that Kazuto writes about men trapped by their own delusions and this ending does encapsulate that, but the threads of the characters' development are pretty much undone. Where are we really left beyond what could have been done in a one-shot?

That ending makes sundome look like a freaking Disney movie.

I was expecting a bittersweet ending, but this feels rushed, it kind of makes sense, but you sorta think that this us just another hurdle that they have to surpass.
