Yay, the food chapter renaissance continues~
I have one friend group that when we meet up, we almost always play credit card roulette after dinner. It really does change the dynamics of how you order, and it is nice that most meals you attend you get for free. I think the worst loss I took was about $200. We had a giant 11 person Chinese feast last November where my one friend got hit with a $700 bill. Pretty rough, but he's a dentist lol.
Ootsuki is totally right btw... I went to Sushiro twice on my last trip to Japan. The first time, with my mom, I tried as many fancy/rare/expensive plates as I could. It was really really good! But very rich and filling and expensive. Next time I went randomly with a friend of mine. He was like yo, you gotta try this one that's just minced shrimp with mayo and cucumber on a gunkan. It was like 100y. Hands down tastiest thing I got at Sushiro lol. We ate like 8 plates of it.
I found out that Toronto finally got a new conveyor belt sushi place (we had one before and it closed). I went with my boyfriend and kinda ordered like I was in Japan, which was a BAD IDEA. $160 gone so quickly...
Okay those are my many thoughts and feelings about this one lol
