I feel a bit bad for the guy. He's between a rock and a hard place. He's so hung up on Aria trying to steal his limelight that he's missing the forest for the trees. The irony is he seems to have some actual great instincts when it comes to recognizing talent and giving fair evaluations.

This chapter proves it as he's running through his head with the "politics" of the matter. He got pushed to the corner at the 11th hour and couldn't "rig" the score one way or the other so what does he land on at the very end of it all? A VERY fair score for their performance.

I didn't expect this level of incompetence, but giving Tsubasa's level of experience it makes sense, I thought he was playing this corporate game for a long time, but it seems he's somewhat new to it. I agree with the scanlators, it does improve his character and make it more interesting.

I wonder if that legendary idol was Anon's mother, it makes sense in my head, though I can't quite grasp the timeline.

Edit: Thinking about it a little more, Tsubasa also seems to lack a mentorship figure, specially since his father is very absent. Probably how he developted such bad character as well, and interestingly enough, in his evaluation now, he doesn't seem to be a malicious person (to me), very petty and envious, but not malicious.

He's a dick but at least they made him slightly sympathetic with this backstory. Striving your whole live to earn the respect of your dad only for some literal street urchin to come in and cuck you is pretty shitty.
