I really think this was pretty cool. Forget the actually trying to lose intent, the win also included the assassin making her own choice, making a feeling like they are alive. Tu Ye deciding to "fuck it i want to win now!" was also great. Maybe this would have an effect in the future that would lead him to stop his "lets ruin the dynasty". But i think even if not this is good enough part to make readers feel good instead of annoyed by the self debilitation from the mc + joke of it not going how he wants it to be..
