Manga with this kind of concept really highlight the Japanese gender norms, since idea is to reverse them. I. e. the girl acts in a stereotypically masculine way and the guy, partially willingly and partially because he's induced to, acts in a stereotypically feminine manner. But it also then highlights how those gender norms are kind of insulting to women. Like, the girl is confident, strong, reliable and competent, when he gets lost she takes over and quickly solves the problem, because that's what reliable men do. But that also implies that women don't. He fills the feminine role, so he's the one who gets lost and needs to be rescued, cause he can't do anything right himself. And that's apparently the stereotypical view of women that the manga portrays. I ain't saying I think author agrees with this, it's more the society these kinds of views originate from that annoys me.
