Really struggling to read this. The FL seems to be thankful or admire them at the drop of a hat.
Something like, "Oh he didn't allow me to be immediately murdered! How gallant!" She "puts up a fight", but sometimes it really seems to be token only. She tried to run away but gets kidnapped, then soon looks at him with starry eyes after they almost ride over a cliff. I don't understand her...
It's so predictable that she will fall for the warlord who promised to throw her in a dungeon and coerced her into "allowing" his sexual assault by forcing an amateur to play against a master... The cognitive dissonance reading this really breaks you out of the story, which mostly involves trying to tell the MLs apart...
