Well, Life expectancy in the middle ages was 30 - 35 or let's say this is maybe inspired on the Victorian era that is still 40 - 45 of life expectancy... so 27 years was considered very old.... also, she is technically marrying a child is not like she is better, lol... they are just using a reverse 100 year old vampire legal loli trope.

Isn't the low life expectancy a myth based on average life expectancy including the massive amounts of infant and child mortality? That once a kid got past like say 15 they usually lived till their 60's or more?

There were people that got to their 60s but the common folk died before turning 30-35.
