I love how treating his childhood friend to a “nice meal” or pizza is on the same level as getting a car for his dad (tho I suppose they are in Italy but other than in touristy places hopefully they wouldn’t get overcharged for an “authentic” margherita pizza versus it being a common weekend hangout
