This is actually quite interesting philosophically. Considering she can blend in among humans, she must have a degree of human psychology understanding, otherwise she couldn't act like a human at all. She even understands emotions to some extent. Yet naturally she couldn't ever be sympathetic because humans are her source of food. The fact she's living with and had sex with the dude, adds another layer to it. That seems quite pointless for her survival as a species, unless she indeed can breed with humans. Bjut then again, if her monster species actually also enjoys social interactions and sex, then, considering she can assume a human shape, she might be using the dude as a substitute for one of her own kind. Actually falling in love with a human seems like too much of a stretch considering she eats humans.

Philosophically it is interesting to see a monster who kills, gain empathy and understanding for a weaker being as it seems she is fond of the guy. Though it could just be that she is interested in learning about humans to simply be a better hunter. Though if the author takes it the route of her falling in love with him, it could be interesting to see her thought process since she may still consider killing other humans as okay because in her mind she has dubbed him special/different from other humans. Though the guy's philosophy seem to be more of a moral nihilism view as he's okay living with and having sex with a being who kills his species.

She really do be evolving at a much faster pace than humans though.

She's going through the growth on human emotions so fast it's actually unreal.

Humans had to develop these levels of emotions for millions of years, yet her she is growing everyday at a level complete unnatural.

It makes you question if something that can evolve this quickly even comes from a universe as slow progressing as ours.
