...... That's a very critical mistake that you wouldn't do in the event unless to deny ALL damage to the non-selected clowns. Not just for reasons MC listed but have you seen the firepower of those rankers? If not why are you here? But seriously if they just use large aoe skills to kill everything special and not, then wouldn't the non-special ones drop the item if killed? Or at least have a chance to drop? Cause I doubt they have a 0% chance unless the status effect is active
