Honestly, I think the reason I hate this story so much is because I absolutely despise how much of it is predicated on the stupid trope where a child is identical to their parents for reasons that are absolutely not genetically passed down. Like, no, hobbies, disposition and flavour preferences are not something a child will inherit if they've never met the parent in question. I hated this trope in "the doctor is out", too, but my god is it ever grating in this story because literally EVERY character identifies the MC as the real daughter because "ZOMG she doesn't like raisins!! JUST LIKE THE EMPRESS!"
